The Embraer ERJ-190 Series (GE CF34) type training course is an EASA Part-147 approved theoretical programme for licensed and trainee aircraft maintenance engineers pursuing a B1/B2 type rating on the Embraer ERJ-190 series fitted with General Electric CF34 engines. Delivered by AVIET under EASA approval MT.147.08, the course follows the EASA Part-66 Appendix III syllabus, covering aircraft general familiarization, airframe systems, electrical and avionics systems, and CF34 engine systems including construction, operation, and maintenance practices specific to the type.
Trainees study aircraft structures, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel and environmental control systems, and engine-related ATA chapters, building the theoretical knowledge base required before progressing to practical, hands-on training on the Embraer ERJ-190 Series (GE CF34).
Practical training for the Embraer ERJ-190 Series (GE CF34) course takes place at AVIET’s partner-established MRO facilities, giving trainees direct, hands-on exposure to the aircraft and its CF34 engines. Participants carry out supervised maintenance tasks such as scheduled inspections, borescope examinations, component removal and installation, and line and base maintenance activities in line with the aircraft maintenance manual.
The practical phase reinforces the theoretical knowledge gained earlier, ensuring trainees can confidently apply Part-147 standards in a real working environment before returning to their organizations.
On completion of the theoretical phase, trainees sit a closed-book, multiple-choice examination aligned with EASA Part-66 requirements, with a minimum pass mark of 75%.
The practical phase is assessed through supervised task completion and a practical assessment confirming competence on the relevant maintenance tasks for the Embraer ERJ-190 Series (GE CF34).
A minimum of 90% attendance is required throughout the theoretical phase of the Embraer ERJ-190 Series (GE CF34) course to be eligible for the final examination.
A minimum of 90% attendance is required for all scheduled practical sessions, with sign-in records maintained in accordance with AVIET’s Part-147 quality procedures.
